- Optimierung von Designer-Nuklease-Plattformen (TALEN, CRISPR-Cas) für die therapeutische Anwendung in humanen Stammzellen.
- Entwicklung von Krankheitsmodellen und Zelltherapien auf der Basis von induzierten pluripotenten Stammzellen (iPS-Zellen).
- Klinische Anwendung von Zell- und Gentherapeutika zur Behandlung von Patienten mit angeborenen Immunschwächen, HIV-Infektion oder Leukämien.
