Are you ready to take the next step to greater independence in your post-doc career? In that case, don't miss the opportunity to learn from experts on how to successfully secure research funding, and to discuss and exchange information on this important topic with your peers.

This lunchtime seminar organized by the Office of the Dean for Research of the Faculty of Medicine will provide useful information on a wide selection of topics ranging from grant proposal writing and funding opportunities to data handling and publication. Invited experts will inform you about the different aspects of grant proposals as well as internal and external funding oppotunities.

Funding Opportunities for Medical and Data Scientists [en]

The Hans A. Krebs Medical Scientist Program of the Faculty of Medicine offers funding to young outstanding postdocs without clinical duties working on a translational research topic. The Program provides individualized supervision and mentoring as well as a qualification program tailored to the applicants’ needs and aims to support postdocs to establish themselves as independent scientists. In this seminar the coordination office of the Hans A. Krebs Medical Scientist Program provides information on the application as medical scientist, including digital medical scientist.

This talk is aimed especially at postdoctoral researchers at an early stage of their career.

What is required for an application for an ethics vote and what help can I get from the Ethics Committee? [en]

On the basis of national and international laws and regulations, physicians and other researchers planning clinical trials, basic research or epidemiological studies involving human subjects, human biomaterial or personal data must obtain ethical, legal and scientific advice from an accredited ethics committee. Only after a positive vote may the project begin. This presentation will provide guidance on the legal and regulatory background, information on the required forms and additional support from the ethics committee. There will be time for additional questions and discussion.
