Research at the Faculty of Medicine
Interdisciplinary collaboration is key to innovation and success in research. Scientists at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Freiburg adopt a multidisciplinary approach to bridge the gap between basic sciences and clinical research and to develop novel therapies, which are, in turn, used to improve patient care in the hospital.
With innovative approaches and excellent researchers, the Faculty of Medicine is a leader in its fields of research, as judged by annual third-party funding of more than €100 million and top rankings in the German Research Foundation’s Funding Atlas. Early-career scientists are supported with structured excellence programmes, research training groups, and a wide variety of other training measures.
