Immediate DFG measures in the current Corona situation with regard to equality funds

Since March 2020 it has been possible to apply for additional support for project-specific delays due to containment measures in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.

• Funded recipients can also apply for additional funds in cases in which the closing of day-care centers, schools and other childcare facilities as well as the necessary self-care of the children by scientists have resulted in project delays.

For funding programmes in which there is an equal opportunity allowance:

In times of the coronavirus pandemic, childcare can also be financed outside of off-peak hours from equal opportunity funds under the following conditions:

• The prohibition of betterment must be observed.
• In particular, the currently applicable (state) legal regulations in order to contain the coronavirus pandemic must not be undermined.
• It must be an institutionalized offer.
• There must be no direct cash flow to the parents.
• A corresponding local co-payment is to be payed by the parents.
• Childcare can only be financed if the parents are not available for project-specific reasons.
