Commission on Strategy and Development

The Commission on Strategy and Development (StratKo) is a permanent, joint commission of the Faculty of Medicine and the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.

It advises the Faculty Board and the Board of Directors of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg on matters related to structural and developmental planning, taking into account the needs and interests of teaching, research and patient care.

 

Tasks

The Commission on Strategy and Development develops recommendations for decisions on as well as strategies and perspectives regarding

  • the long-term structural orientation and development of the Faculty of Medicine and the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
  • updates of the joint structure and development plan (STEP MED) of the Faculty of Medicine and the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
  • updates of the Faculty Plan of the Faculty of Medicine as part of the structure and development plan of the University of Freiburg (StrEP)
  • the definition of function descriptions of newly or re-appointed W-professors at the Faculty of Medicine in accordance with the University's appointment guidelines.

 

Members of the Commission

The members of the Commission are appointed by the Faculty Board in consultation with the Board of Directors of the Medical Center – University of Freiburg. The term of office of the members is linked to the term of office of the Dean. The Commission comprises the following members:

  • Ex officio members:
    • Vice Dean for Structure and Development (as Chairperson)
    • Dean
    • Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg
    • Chief Financial Officer of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg
    • Equal Opportunities Officer of the Faculty.

 

  • By appointment:
    • Five appointed professors from the Faculty.

 

  • Advisory function:
    • Head of the Business Division for Structure and Development

 

Both clinical and theoretical disciplines of the Faculty are represented on the Commission.
