Office of the Dean for Research

The Office of the Dean for Research offers scientists of the Faculty of Medicine a contact point for research issues. In addition to providing advice on research and career promotion, the Office of the Dean for Research provides information on research-relevant topics and contributes to the structural development of the research areas as well as academic personnel development.

The Office of the Dean for Research is composed of the following three divisions:

  • The division Research Service (ForS) provides information and advice on intramural and national support as well as funding opportunities, assists research consortia in the application process and raises awareness for "quality in research" as well as "good scientific practice". It supports research infrastructures and advises the faculty management in the development and implementation of strategic research initiatives.
  • The EU-Office supports scientists in the application and handling of projects in the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation of the European Union, in other European and international programmes as well as in transnational calls for proposals.
  • The division Academic Qualifications Programmes (AkQua) aims to provide the best possible support for postdoctoral researchers in their career development. AkQua coordinates various intramural and target group-specific funding and qualification programmes. This also includes the course programme EQUIP. A further task is the development of strategic measures for the qualification of scientists.
